Winter Wonderland…in November!?!

Well we’ve set the record for most snow fall in November!  I heard it was suppose to be a bad winter, and Im thinking they were right!  Kaylynn is loving all the snow, Tim cant wait to go snowboarding in it, and I, well…I love the snow but  Im not a fan of driving an hour to and from school in it  4 days a week!  I had a really scary 45 minute drive in it when we had the 1st big snowfall  without snow tires, before I had to turn around and have dad drive me to school.  Thankfully uncle Mark found me some good tires for a great price and my wonderful parents paid for them!!  I wouldn't have been able to go to school without them.  What would I do without my awesome family!!!  The St.Maries school district has already had its 1st snow day, and that was before Thanksgiving, which I think may be another record, or at least hasn't happened in a long time!  Needless to say we will be getting in a lot of shoveling, sledding, and snowman building!

Last weekend was Thanksgiving and we had a great time spending the holiday with family.  The day before we celebrated Thanksgiving at Tim’s parents along with his sister, her boyfriend, and our nieces.  Kaylynn loved playing with her Poppa and cousins and Grammie and Poppa were SO excited to be able to spend some time with their grandbabies.  Since they moved an hour away they haven't got to spend very much time with them so its really nice when they can see them.  On Thanksgiving day we went to my aunt and uncle’s house.  My parents and siblings, both sets of grandparents, and my uncles parents and brother were there as well.  Its always a great time when we get together. This was also Lydi’s 1st Thanksgiving AND she turned 5 months old, so it was a very special day for her!   We spent the day surrounded by yummy food made by family and wonderful time with loved ones.  I love this time of year!  We stayed at Tim’s parents Thanksgiving night so that I could get up REALLY early and go shopping!  I'm usually not one to do the 4am shopping, but this year I did and I got some GREAT deals, and I am just about done with my Christmas shopping:)

Now that its December, we are gearing up for a month full of snow, baking, present wrapping, getting a tree, decorating, and all the other fun festivities that come along with this wonderful holiday season…I will have to squeeze some study time in too:)

Also, big news in the Boyett household:  Lydia is sitting up on her own!!!!  ~It figures, I didn't push her to roll or sit up or anything like I did Kaylynn, and she goes and does it all even earlier than Kaylynn did! ~

Long over due

Im finally sitting down with a little bit of free time, while the kids are asleep and before I go to bed, to update our blog.  Its been quite awhile since I have posted and so so so much has gone on in-between.  I am going to try to remember most and sum it up so that Im not writing a flipping book!  These past few weeks have been some of the most stressful times in my life, but I think I will continue on with this in another post.

Aside from the stress, school is going great, the girls are doing great except for the yearly fall/winter cold that they have both caught:(  Nothing worse than sick babies!  Kaylynn is learning so much at school, it actually amazes me some of the things she has learned.  I am such a proud momma:)  Lydia is growing like crazy, rolling over and is sitting up on her own more and more.  She loves to hear her own voice and she is into grabbing anything and everything in sight/reach, faces are her fav!  No teeth yet, but she's trying super hard. We also started giving her some rice cereal, which she HATES, and little bits of applesauce and banana.  She isnt too sure about those either.  The 2 things that kid likes is; pickels- mom gave her one and she sucked that thing dry and didnt make a face at all, she absolutly loved them, and apples; uncle Josh let her bite/suck on one side of his apple and she loved it!   So much for baby food!  The girls both had their well-child check ups on the 5th.  Kaylynn finally hit the 30lb mark, and is  41inches tall!  She had a huge growth spurt in the last 6 months.  Lydia is not far behind her coming in at 15lbs 10z and 23 3/4inches.  They both are advanced in all areas and healthy as can be, well minus the cold.  Lydi had shots again:(  So sad, but this time she cried for about a minute and was ok after that.  Kaylynn had the flu mist, not shots, YAY!  So all the girls are vaccinated and good to go this flu season…I hope!

Halloween was a few weeks ago.  Always such a fun time, especially when you have kids old enough for trick-or-treating:)  Kaylynn decided she wanted to be batgirl this year, and oh did she make a cute batgirl!  Little miss Lydi was a peapod and just like her sister, she was the cutest little peapod ever! We trick-or-treated lots of houses and Kaylynn loved getting all the candy.  She didnt want to stop until her basket was full, even though it was super cold.  Oh well, we had fun, and mommy got her chocolate fix so Im ok with a little cold weather hahaha.

Tim and I have been staying busy with work and school and the girls, but we did manage to have one night of parenting off.   We went to  a football game at the college Tim use to attended.  The game itself was pretty sad, we lost by quite a bit, but it was nice to get out of town and be around people are age for a change.   We are hoping to be able to do things like that atleast once a  month, nothing big, but just a night out to help remind us that we are still young even though we are parents haha.

I think that about sums everything up, I know we have been so busy but those are really the main things I can think about right now, just mainly alot of little things and going here and there.  Now onto the pictures, my favorite part:)  Here are some pictures from over the past couple weeks.

Trying to stay caught up

So Ive been trying to get all caught up and stay on top of this blogging thing.  I really do like doing it, I love being able to go back and read things from previous months ect.  We have been so busy with hunting, sister and brother’s games, school, work, and other activities.  Yesterday was the 1st night in over a week that we had dinner at home!  My house is begging me to clean it, but I continue to put it off.  I just cant muster up the energy to clean.  I think its because its all so overwhelming and i have no clue where to even begin in this disaster!    Anyways, today is my Friday at school, which I am so happy because that means 3 days of no driving.  Now that I think about it thats not true for this week because I have to drive an hour tomorrow for an eye appt.  Ugh..oh well its a much needed appt.  Back to the school topic, I am doing very well so far if I dont say so myself.  Im now into Medical Terminology and my current grade for that class is a 100.5%!  I am happy but frustrated because it could have been higher if I wouldn't have been such a ditz on my homework and get a 98% on it.  Oh well, I will take the A+:)  Its funny, I was never one to stress about my grades in school, or even my first couple years in college.  If it was a B or even  C ,I was happy, and an A was amazing, but this time around I get upset if I get anything less than 100%  I guess its not a bad thing, it makes me push myself, but its just funny to me how I did a complete 360 0n my outlook of school…I think  its because this is the material that I am REALLY interested in:)  After school I came home, got the girls, and we’ve just been hanging around our messy house since.  Here are a few pics from tonight:)

Uncle Josh’s visit

My brother came home for about two weeks recently, he came back, not really to see us, but to hunt haha.  We were all excited to see him though, no matter his reasons for coming back:)  Kaylynn was sooo excited that uncle Josh was here.  When I told her he was coming home she said “ oh  my gosh, no way!  He is going to tickle me and it is going to be so funny”  She is cracks me up!  I know she misses him lots because she always talks about him and every art project or piece of paper for that matter, is made for uncle Josh:)  I was also excited for him to come home and see his other niece as well.  He was home when Lydia was born, but left when she was a little over a week old, so she has changed lots since the last time he saw her.  Here are a couple pictures I managed to get of the girls and their uncle while he was home:) DSCN2235 DSCN2237

Green Bluff 10-17-10

DSCN2346
So this year I thought it would be fun to take the girls to Green Bluff.  None of us had ever been to a pumpkin patch before.  Tim, the girls, Matt, and I went, the rest of the family was busy.  We first had to stop at Wal-Mart and have some b-day pics for Kaylynn taken:)  By the way, she took awesome photos:)  So proud of her.  There are so many options up at Green Bluff, but we decided to go to Siemens farm.  We all had so much fun!
Kaylynn got to ride a train, which she's been begging me to do

We were going to do the corn maze but got busy with other things and by the time we wanted to it was late and the girls were tired.  We loved being able to go out and pick out our own pumpkins.  Kaylynn would get so excited over one pumpkin, put it in the wheelbarrow, and then 2 steps later find another one she wanted :)  We went through this process many times before settling on the PERFECT one:)  DSCN2371
We all picked out our perfect pumpkins, even Lydi.

Before we left for home, we decided to try some pumpkin doughnuts and I am so glad we tried them because they were AWESOME!  We headed home, full on doughnuts, pumpkins in the truck, and 3 very tired kids.  It was such a fun Sunday.  I look forward to this being a tradition for our family each fall.  Hopefully next time we can get around to the apple picking ect.
