Its beginning to feel alot like Christmas…

So its a week away from Christmas and we have really been getting into the spirit these past couple weeks.

We started off by decorating Grandma’s house.  It was the 4 yr anniversary of grandpa’s passing, and its seriously so hard to believe that neither one of them are here with us anymore.  They will always be with us in spirit though, and in the spirit of Christmas we decided we would go all out and decorate grandma’s house since this was her favorite time of year:)  Kaylynn and I went over to the house and joined Kristi, Sami, Kari, Kayla, and Kendra.  We baked a bunch of goodies, including g-mas famous raisin filled cookies.  I must say we did a pretty good job for it being our 1st time.  After all the baking, Marlee, and Nathan joined us and we decorated the house and tree.  I think gma would love it and we made sure to get ornaments around the ENTIRE tree like gpa always made sure was done:)  Here are some pictures:

The following day Tim, the girls, and I went up to my parents and set out to go find our Christmas tree.  We usually go to the tree farm, which we love doing, but we are way too strapped for cash this year, and heck if you have the property to get one free from, why not!?  Plus we made some great memories and I think it will now become our yearly tradition:)

Tim pulled Kaylynn in the sled and I packed Lydi in the front pack and out we went, with the all the dogs following us, to find our tree in the rainy weather…

Kaylynn and her princess ornament:)

On my day off last Thursday Kaylynn and I made some salt dough and the girls made ornaments out of it.  They turned out super cute

Kaylynn and I also did a little art project.  We made a holiday wreath out of her hands.

Today we had a lazy day at home.  We watched Christmas movies, had a nice warm fire, hot chocolate, and Kaylynn and I played outside and made snow angels until it was dark out.  Its moments like these that I live for:)

I am officially of 2 weeks vacation now and I am so excited!!

Tomorrow I think I will spend the day baking, then Wednesday Kaylynn has a little school Christmas party Im going to.  She will sing songs and Santa will be making an appearance.  Then I will be going out to bake at my aunts, and then Josh will be coming home that day as well.  Busy busy, but its fun busy which I love.  I am loving the holiday season and I am so excited for “Santa” to come.  Its so fun now that Kaylynn is old enough to understand and really get into Santa ect.  I am very much looking forward to spending the holiday with the ones I love.

Funny face photo shoot

Kaylynn was in a really goofy mood a few nights ago so I got out the camera and she totally hammed it up.  The girl has such a hilarious personality, I love it!

We are officially getting into the Christmas spirit!  Last night Kaylynn and I baked sugar cookies and then daddy, Kaylynn, and I iced them while little Lydi watched.  It was so fun watching Kaylynn put all different colors of icing on the cookies.  She was so proud of all of her cookies:)DSCN2995

She did very good at not taking a bite of one cookie that she iced, but when it came time to ice the last one, she finished, looked at it, then took a big ol’ bite haha

Ok I just had to add these pictures in, I dont know why but I just love bathtime pictures.  I think its because both the girls just love their bathes and they have so much fun splashing around in the water:)

All clean!

We have had a great Saturday!   Tim let me sleep in, so I knew today would be great from the beginning :)  He was up and making breakfast when I woke up.  He was having a little trouble though, he wanted biscuts and gravy but we had no sausage:(  So he decided to try making bacon gravy like his mom use to make.  Well lets just say we both tried it and ended up just having biscuts and jam haha.  Guess we’ll leave the bacon gravy making to his mom!  After breakfast we all got ready to go to the yearly “Christmas in St.Maries”  We looked around at all the neat things at the craft fair, Kaylynn and I took a sleigh ride, and the girls even got to see Santa and have their picture taken with him!  We waited a long 45 minutes for these pictures and I am happy to say the picture turned out great.  Kaylynn was getting tired and cold as well as Lydi so we went home for a few hours for some lunch and a quick nap, then we headed back down to watch the parade.  I was sad to see there wasnt very many floats at all this year, but none the less, the girls loved it.  Now we are home, had dinner, and watching Kaylynn’s  new favorite move, “The Grinch.”  Hope everyone had a great Saturday!!
